Worship Services
Everyone is welcome. We confess the Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In our preaching and teaching we trust the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe. We celebrate our faith in Jesus Christ through a variety of worship, music styles and traditions. All services presented in a casual open style while relating the lessons of the Bible to concerns of our modern world. Therefore there is something for everyone.
The word “liturgy” means “the work of the people.” With that in mind, the Lutheran liturgy (worship service) is meant to be participatory. Not a show to watch, you are invited to sing, to pray, to read, to speak, as we actively worship God together. Worship at Christ the Lord is warm, friendly, and open to all. Here are a few keys to help you in your worship experience.
Traditional worship at 9:00 AM
The traditional service is printed in the bulletin and uses the red ELCA hymnal (Evangelical Lutheran Worship) for hymns.
Contemporary worship at 11:00 AM
This contemporary worship service, written by a member of the congregation, is printed in the bulletin, as are the hymns.
Holy Communion
Holy Communion is celebrated at both services. We celebrate together the Meal of Grace. The Lord is Host. We are the Guests. All are invited to the Table to feast in the promise of Jesus to be present in the bread and cup. We typically offer First Communion in the spring of a student’s 5th grade year or at age 10. The Pastor will work with each family upon request to determine if their child would benefit from earlier instruction. If your child has been granted communion through another community of Faith, they are welcome to receive communion here at Christ the Lord.
Nursery
A staffed nursery is provided on Sunday mornings from 9:00 AM until noon.
Seasonal Services
Special mid-week services are held during Advent, Lent, and Holy Week which include prayer, reflection, and Holy Communion.
Online Services
Subscribe to our YouTube channel or access Facebook Live from our Facebook page to view worship services.
Music
Music during the services often includes our choir as well as special choir groups, the handbell/chime choirs, and various instrumentalists.
