Everything we have is a gift from God, which we are called to use wisely and to God’s glory. Quite simply, stewardship involves dedicating your whole life to God’s service. We give, not to earn God’s love or approval, but in response to the love which we experience in Christ.
Time and Talent
In our busy society and culture, time is often the most difficult gift to offer the church. But God has gifted you and called you to service. Every Sunday, needs and opportunities to serve are listed in the bulletin insert. You can respond to these requests by signing the back of the attendance sheet or the sign-up sheets in the narthex. Skilled labor of any sort is eagerly sought to maintain repair of our property and church building.
The Bible teaches us to tithe — to give 10 percent of our income directly to the ministry of the church and to trust God’s providential care to meet the rest of our needs. Yes, this is a big step for most of us. But our finances are not exempt from God’s claim on our lives. Give as you are able and intentionally grow from there. Remember, God loves you as you are!
A great gift everyone can offer the church is that of prayer. You don’t need fancy words or prescribed formulas — simply offer to God what’s on your heart and mind. Please pray daily for our congregation, our community, our world. We need it!
