Call Committee Update

The Call Committee has submitted the Mission Site Profile to the Bishop’s Office. The MSP is a comprehensive examination of the past, the present, and the future plans and hopes of CTL.

When the bishop’s office approves the MSP, CTL will have completed stage 2 of the 4-stage call process. Stage 3 is interviewing candidates for CTL’s next pastor! We continue in prayer as we seek the next Pastor for Christ the Lord Lutheran Church.

Wrapping Others in Prayer

The Prayer Shawl Ministry came to CTL in 2004 with the idea of having the Pastor deliver them when he/she visited members in the hospital or the sick and shut-ins until COvID-19 shut us down.
God is now leading us back into the CTL community. We will celebrate the Prayers Shawl Ministry on September 18th during both services. The prayers shawls in inventory will be displayed on the pews in the sanctuary. Anyone who desires to have one for themself, or to share with someone you know who could use prayers, will have an opportunity to select one.

If you would like more information on how you can be a part of providing prayer shawls contact Juanita Hood.

Teen Servant Camp a Huge Success

Last week we had eight youth come together daily for servant camp. Each day began with a devotion or scripture reading by Diane Thomas. The students learned how scripture ties into each day of service. The morning hours each day were spent in service to neighbors in our community. The service projects and locations included activities with the residents of Brookdale Senior Center, environmental care at Collins Hill Park, giving love and support to the cats at Furkids, working in the stockroom at the Lawrenceville Co-Op food bank, and making lunches at Fish Ministries. Each afternoon, the group enjoyed fun activities including; Top Golf, laser tag, tubing, a waterpark, and an escape room. Thrivent Financial provided monetary resources for the group to purchase food for Furkids and the Lawrenceville Co-Op. This group learned how to work hard, and play hard as a team. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with these young disciples. We were delighted to have some very special adult volunteers come along. The youth are already looking forward to next year.

Children’s Sermon

Each Sunday at both services we will invite all children in attendance to the altar area for a special message from Pastor Scott or Ms. Diane. Children’s Sermons will continue until the beginning of Sunday school.
