Charlie Eidson is Settling In
Four weeks into their new adventure, Pr. Brad, Lauren, and Will are soaking in all the sweet snuggles with Charlie. They have appreciated all the prayers and well wishes.
Charlie loves to party all night and sleep all day. Lauren shared that Charlie is a great eater and is pretty chill most of the time. Will spends time reading to his brother. He especially likes it when Charlie doesn't cry. The Eidsons are beginning to get out and about as a family; but mostly are staying close to home. Pr Brad is looking forward to getting back to church, but for now, he is relishing the opportunity to love on his family. PB is preparing to return to lead worship and teach Sunday school on Sunday, September 17.

Have You Heard About the Plans
to Retire the Mortgage?
Briefly, we received a gift and a challenge from a church member. A gift towards the principal of our mortgage of $50,000.00 along with the suggestion of challenging others to join their gifts in hopes of paying off the remaining balance. A team has been working to develop a plan to share this opportunity. Once word got out another $25,000.00 has been pledged. We opened up the campaign ahead of schedule and have received additional combined contributions of just over $9,500.00 and pledges of $12,000.00. "Our Cup Runneth Over". We have received gifts and pledges totaling $96,500 of the $200,000 balance.
Over the next few weeks, we will hear from members as they share on a variety of topics related to our faith community. To read the original electronic communication follow this link. We hope you will keep the church in your prayers during this exciting time. We are eagerly anticipating how God will move us in this community as we retire this debt. WE WILL GO IN PEACE AND SERVE THE LORD.

Second Grade Bible Presentation
October 8
We are looking forward to presenting our second-grade students with a lovely hardcover Bible for their faith formation journey. The Bible presented is written at a third-grade reading level so it is easy for the younger students to read and grasp the meaning. Equipping our children with the tools they need to learn about God and His love is an important role of our congregation. Bibles will be given out on Sunday, October 8 at both services. Please contact Diane Thomas or the front office if you have a second-grade student ready to receive a Bible.

Community Sunday
September 24
Ever wonder who attends the service you do not attend? Well, it is about time you found out. On Sunday, September 24, 2023, Christ the Lord Lutheran Church will join the two services together for our first Community Sunday. We will all be together at 10:00 a.m. that day.
This Community Sunday will feature a barbecue cookoff and potluck side dishes. We are seeking 4 to 5 teams/individuals to prepare their favorite barbecue. The entries will be judged and a trophy will be presented. Pr. Brad seems to think he will win, so let's show him some Southern hospitality by demonstrating how it's done.
Help is needed to set up, provide side dishes, and clean up. Contact Kelli Robinson or use the link below to let us know how you would like to participate.
