The Best Adult Sunday School Class of The Year?

Beginning September 25, our adult Sunday School class will study the book, Where God Meets Man by Gerhard Forde. The book’s sub-title is “Luther’s Down to Earth Approach to the Gospel”. I have led studies of this book several times over the years. At the end of those classes often students have said, “This is the best Sunday School class I have ever attended.” That is because, like me, they were captured by the engaging gospel message of Dr. Forde’s book.

The class will meet in the Fellowship Hall beginning shortly after the 9:00 a.m. service is completed. I am excited to join you in studying this substantial book in the coming weeks. Prepaid orders for the book Where God Meets Man are being accepted at CTL until September 11. Books are $16.50. Prepaid orders should arrive prior to the beginning of class on September 25. Or you may go online and find a used copy of the book. Link Here for the publisher’s summary and, also, our schedule for the class.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Scott Peterson

Bible Presentation

Second Grade Bible Presentation

At Christ the Lord we believe putting the scripture into the hands of young children is a valuable gift for their faith journey. On September 25th the congregation presents all second grade students with a Bible. This serves as a reminder to the students the importance of God’s word in their lives. If you have a second grader, please let Diane Thomas know you would like them to receive a Bible at one of the two services that day.

Youth Will Sell Calendars

Our youth will sell beautiful inspirational wall calendars for 2023. Sales begin on October 30th . The calendars have plenty of space for writing important information on each date and lovely photographs of nature. Calendars will sell for $9 each and proceeds will benefit the 2024 National Youth Gathering trip to New Orleans. They make great additions to the home and wonderful gifts.

Come and join Mr. Adam Renner and The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer (Atlanta, GA) ONLINE, as he leads us in a conversation about the signs of suicide and how to walk with those who are struggling.

Please consider sharing with your friends and those close to you who could benefit from such a conversation.
