Christ the Lord Lutheran Church is seeking a part-time Children and Youth Faith Formation Coordinator to join our ministry team.

We are looking for someone with energy, creativity, and a collaborative spirit who is rooted in the teachings of Christ and passionate about helping others grow in faith. Organizational qualities and a heart for working with children and youth, ages 4–18, are essential. Lutheran background is welcome but not required.

Approximately 10 hours per week is required for this position. Sunday morning will encompass about 3–4 of those hours. Some weeks more hours will be required, such as the week of Vacation Bible School, and some weeks fewer hours will be required.

Key Duties

• Work with the church calendar to schedule activities and provide the information needed to advertise in the bulletin and e-news.
• Arrange volunteers, where needed, to ensure Sunday school slots and other jobs are filled as different activities require.
• Work with all staff to ensure activities run smoothly.
• Be regularly present and involved with classes and activities.
• Initiate the planning for VBS and other celebrations.
• Confirm that Sunday School and Confirmation classes have the curriculum they need.
• Be a point of contact for teachers and parents regarding changes in the schedule or other issues as they arise.
• Be a point of contact for the nursery schedule and volunteers.
• Inform and encourage our youth to participate in area and national events.
• Manage the Faith Formation budget.

Qualifications

• Experience with or a passion for youth and children’s ministry.
• Good organizational skills.
• A living faith in Christ and solid understanding of the New Testament.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a ministry team.
• Commitment to worship, discipleship, and Christian education.
